According to an insurance certificate dated 17 July 1849, the house was owned by the skipper Abraham. Lagerstam, who built it in 1844. According to this document, the main building consists of two parts, the wing facing V\u00e4stra L\u00e5nggatan was built of new timber, while the wing facing Kattpiskargr\u00e4nden consists of a newly erected older log frame.
The main building was entirely board-lined (probably with horizontal planed panels as it is specifically mentioned that it was painted with GREEN oil paint, and oil paint adheres best to planed wood).
The layout of the house corresponds to the current one, while the facade was modernised in the Art Nouveau style sometime in the 1910s and 1920s. The layout included 8 rooms: 1 hall, 5 chambers, 1 vestibule and 1 kitchen with a total of 6 tiled stoves (2 of which were oil-painted) and 1 kitchen stove with oven (2 rooms with oil-painted wallpaper and 6 with water-coloured wallpaper).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
