The first part of this house on V\u00e4stra L\u00e5nggatan was built in 1858 by carpenter and joiner Johan Sundblad.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 1859, on 17th of September, the magistrate in Kristinestad issued Johan with a plot letter for plot number 194. The plot is located in the new neighbourhood created in 1844. Johan Sundblad then got full ownership of the plot (source Lasse Backlund).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The plot no 194 in the first block originally stretched from Rehnb\u00e4cksgatan in the south to Sundstr\u00f6msgatan in the north, but has in practice been divided into a southern and northern half at least since 1860 when Abraham Lagerstam built a house at the southern end of the plot.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to the fire insurance certificate issued in 1871 to the sailor Karl Wilhelm Sundbland the following buildings were on the plot in 1873 (the buildings are numbered as on the map below).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. Residential house of timber in good condition built in 1858, neither lined nor painted, under a roof of boards. 21 cubits long, 10 cubits wide and 10 3\/4 cubits high from the ground to the roof ridge. One storey with five living rooms, together with a vestibule and staircase, containing four tiled stoves and a kitchen stove and oven.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. A timber and board outbuilding in good condition built in 1868 and painted with red colour under a board roof. 10 cubits long, 5 cubits wide and 4 cubits high. Contains a cattle shed<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    There is a garden on the plot but no deciduous trees.

    Owners and inhabitants<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    1859<\/strong>
    on September 17th, the magistrate in Kristinestad issued a plot letter to the carpenter Johan Henrik Sundblad for plot no. 194.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    1871-1903<\/strong>
    The northern half of plot 194 was owned by seaman Karl Wilhelm Sundblad (according to a fire insurance certificate).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    1916-1953<\/strong>
    According to Lasse Backlund, the farm was owned by the foreman Ivar Jernvall.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
