{"id":8134,"date":"2023-04-15T19:23:15","date_gmt":"2023-04-15T19:23:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/krsdigiarc.com\/building\/287-2-239-3\/"},"modified":"2023-05-15T19:07:04","modified_gmt":"2023-05-15T19:07:04","slug":"287-2-239-3","status":"publish","type":"building","link":"https:\/\/krsdigiarc.com\/en\/building\/287-2-239-3\/","title":{"rendered":"Wijkbergs g\u00e5rd"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-9d6595d7 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>Captain Christian August Olin bought the house in 1876, it was built in 1862.<br>On his way from North America to Europe in 1880, the <a href=\"https:\/\/krsdigiarc.com\/en\/ship\/christinestad-barkskepp-1868\/\" data-type=\"ship\" data-id=\"8216\">ship Christinestad<\/a> disappeared without a<br>trace. Captain Olin and his crew of 13 sailors also disappeared with her. Rafael Olins samlingar<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Building history<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-9d6595d7 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\" style=\"flex-basis:66.66%\">\n<p>It is quite possible that the house and outbuilding previously located on the property were damaged in the Great Fire of Kristinestad 1859. The present residential building was built<br>in 1862. It is a short-cornered log building with a grooved horizontal timber frame and a pitched roof. The window frames are original, only some of the glass has been replaced. The house has<br>a vaulted brick cellar, which is quite rare in the old houses of Kristinestad.<br>Before the current concrete tile roof, the house had a wooden roof and probably later a felt roof.<br>On the property there is a log outbuilding built in 1859. In the building was a barn for 3-4 cows, a stable, an outhouse, a salt cellar and other storage facilities.<br>There was a baker&#8217;s cottage built in 1850, which may also have been used as a dwelling. More information about them can be found at the following<br>address: kristinestadshistoria.fi<br><strong>1862<\/strong> <br>the current main building was built by Karolina \u00c5kervall and her son Wilhelm \u00c5kervall.<br><strong>1876 <\/strong><br>captain Christian August Olin (1834-1880) bought the house.<br><strong>1880<\/strong><br>After the death of captain Christian August Olin in 1880, the house passed to the captain&#8217;s<br>widow Karolina Wilhelmina Olin (1840-1906).<br><strong>1906<\/strong><br>After Wilhelmina Olin&#8217;s death in 1906, the house passed to Olin&#8217;s daughter Annie Wilhelmina<br>Wijkberg and her husband Alexander Edward Wijkberg.<br><strong>1933<\/strong><br>After Edward Wijkberg&#8217;s death in 1933, the house passed to Annie Wijkberg and her heirs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>1964<\/strong> <br>after Annie Wijkberg&#8217;s death, the house passed to her heirs. At that time only Alice<br>Wijkberg lived in the house.
