Captain Wilhelm Starck’s ornate house on Nygatan 1 was the only house in Kristinestad with a veranda on two floors facing Stadsviken. The family lived in the house until 1935. Captain Starck furnished a room as a captain’s cabin, called “Kajutan”, with a ceiling height of 3.3 meters.
